The last couple of days some new CustoMess content was added, to give you a week roundup the following packs have been added: - jvppm`s yellow- , grey- and blue emoticon series. - Walien display pictures by Ezence, - Toy Sheep emoticons by Keagle13 - Chicken Baby emoticons also by Kealge13 and to conclude this weeks update - Swirlll Backgrounds by Tasha. >> Get CustoMess RC2

Further to the last post made about blocked file extensions, we have found the full list of blocked file extensions. If you need to send files with these extensions over MSN Messenger, it would be best to send them in a zip file. The full list of extensions is as follows: .ade .adp .app .asp .bas .bat .cer .chm .cmd .com .cpl .crt .csh .exe .fxp .hlp .hta .inf .ins .isp .its .js .jse .ksh .lnk .mad .maf .mag .mam .maq .mar .mas .mat .mau .mav .maw .mda .mdb .mde .mdt .mdw .mdz .msc .msi .msp .mst .ops .pcd .pif .prf .prg .pst .reg .scf .scr .sct .shb .shs .tmp .url .vb .vbe .vbs .vsd .vsmacros .vss .vst .vsw .ws .wsc .wsf .wsh if you try and send a file with one of these extensions, your contact will recieve this message: emailhere@msn.com tried to send you a file (filename.extension). This file has been blocked because it is potentially unsafe. On another note, it seems that the message that appears stating that the file is blocked appears in a different window than the one sending it. Confusing!

 Microsoft tries to stop MSN Messenger viruses

With the new leaked version of MSN Messenger 7.0.0732, Microsoft tries to set a halt to the amount of MSN Messenger viruses that spread the internet recently. From now on “unsafe” file transfers will be blocked immediately. The following file extions are blocked and the receiver will be notified about a attempted unsafe file transfer: Exe (executable), Com (executable), Scr (screensaver), Bat (batch file), Pif (MS-Dos executable), VBS (Visual Basic Script), JS (Java Script), HTA (HTML Application) Reg (Windows Registration), msi (Microsoft Installer) Too bad compressed files like ZIP and RAR are not deep scanned.  Goodbye 150 contact limit, hello 300!

How long have we all been waiting for Microsoft to increase the limit of contacts MSN Messenger can hold per address? Many months at least, years for some of us. Well, finally our wish is their command - they have increased the limit to double what it was previously. You will not need to install any newer versions of MSN Messenger for this change to take place - you should be able to add more people immediately. [Reported by: MoRiA]

 Muggins, Finally!

Well, after only four days since finding the first example of dynamic display pictures from Blue Mountain, or Muggins as they are now called, we have finally been able to get a working example inside MSN Messenger. The internal release of MSN Messenger 7.0.0732 (which later got leaked onto the internet late last night) was found to be Muggins capable. However, any of your contacts who have an older version of MSN Messenger (even an older 7.0 beta) will only see a static image of the top half of the muggin. On the other hand, if you and your contact both have the new MSN Messenger beta you will be able to view each others muggins, change your muggin's mood by what emoticons you use, change your muggin's mood from a menu, not to mention view somebodys Muggin in their contact card.

Risico Messenger is a MSN Client that requires no installation. This may be of use to you if you are unable to install MSN Messenger at your school, college or workplace for example. Risico Messenger is a full version of MSN Messenger 6.2.0205 in dutch, however all the menu items and buttons are in the same place as in the english version - so any non dutch speaking old school messers shouldnt have a problem! >> Download Risico Messenger

After unveiling you the first MSN Messenger 7 avatars here on mess.be ZoRoNaX discovered some more. Except for muggins, Blue Mountain will offer you animated avatars called “Characters with Moods”.  CustoMess RC1 is no more... hail RC2 !
